The liturgy of the hours should become the personal prayer of everyone who participates in it. It needs to become a source of piety and manifold grace of God and food for
personal prayer and apostolic action. That is why it should be prayed with dignity, attentively and devoutly, so that the heart is in harmony with the mouth, the soul with the
voice.
The Book of Hours is the prayer of all God's people. That's why it is so complex and organized that I can in it
everyone can participate - clergy, religious and lay people. Everyone is invited to unite their voice with the prayer of the Church and raise a permanent song of praise to
Almighty God. The church is a community, so it must also manifest its community through prayer. Whether in joint or individual celebration, the essential structure of this
liturgy includes the conversation between God and man. Common prayer has a special dignity. Therefore, whenever the gathering and joint celebration of the faithful can take
place, let it take precedence over the individual and almost private celebration of the liturgy of the hours.
